This handcrafted porcelain heart rattle is part of the Pocket Rattles Series.  It is a lovely, intimate object that blends playfulness with quiet refinement.
Softly rounded and formed by hand, the piece rests comfortably in the palm, while a hidden element inside creates a gentle, subtle sound when moved—an understated invitation to interact.
 
The surface is smooth and luminous, decorated with a colorful array of pastel floral motifs that bring a sense of lightness and spontaneity. Scattered gold luster accents add moments of warmth and reflection, catching the light and elevating the piece with a quiet, precious quality.
Each rattle is fired to cone 10 in an oxidation atmosphere, then fired a second time to fuse the gold luster details to the surface. This layered process enhances both the durability of the porcelain and the richness of the finish.
No two are exactly alike—variations in pattern, placement, and tone make each piece unique.

    Returns & Exchanges

    Because each item is handmade and often one-of-a-kind, returns are generally not accepted. However, I want you to feel confident in your purchase, so exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis for the following:

    -Items damaged during shipping
    -Incorrect item received
     

    If you believe your situation qualifies for a return or exchange, please contact me within 7 days of delivery with photos and a description of the issue.

    Damaged Items

    If your order arrives damaged:

    • Contact me at marygerman.ceramics@gmail.com within 7 days of receiving your package.
       

    • Include clear photos of the damaged item(s), packaging, and shipping label.
       

    • I will offer a replacement if available, a store credit, or a refund.
       

    Please do not discard the packaging until the issue is resolved.

    Cancellations

    Orders may be canceled within 24 hours of purchase, as long as the item has not yet shipped.

    Care & Use Instructions for Handmade Porcelain Pottery

    Thank you for purchasing handmade porcelain pottery! Each piece is crafted with care, and slight variations in shape, size, and glaze are part of its unique character. To help your pottery last for many years, please follow these care guidelines:

    General Use

    • Food Safe: All functional pieces (mugs, bowls, plates, etc.) are made with food-safe clay and glazes unless otherwise noted.
       

    • Microwave Safe: Most porcelain pieces are microwave safe; however, avoid sudden temperature changes (e.g., fridge to microwave) as thermal shock can cause cracking.
       

    • Oven Use: Not recommended unless specified. Porcelain can crack under direct or uneven heat.

    Cleaning

    -Dishwasher Safe: While porcelain is durable, hand washing is recommended.

    For non-functional or decorative pieces, dust gently with a soft cloth. Avoid soaking in water to preserve surface finishes.

    • Stain Removal: Use a paste of baking soda and water for stubborn tea or coffee stains. Avoid harsh abrasives or metal scouring pads.

    Handling

    • Avoid Thermal Shock: Do not expose pieces to sudden changes in temperature. For example, let a mug come to room temperature before pouring in boiling water.
       

    • Protect Surfaces: If the bottom of the piece is unglazed, consider placing a felt pad or coaster underneath to prevent scratching delicate surfaces.
