Care & Use Instructions for Handmade Porcelain Pottery

Thank you for purchasing handmade porcelain pottery! Each piece is crafted with care, and slight variations in shape, size, and glaze are part of its unique character. To help your pottery last for many years, please follow these care guidelines:

General Use

• Food Safe: All functional pieces (mugs, bowls, plates, etc.) are made with food-safe clay and glazes unless otherwise noted.

• Microwave Safe: Most porcelain pieces are microwave safe; however, avoid sudden temperature changes (e.g., fridge to microwave) as thermal shock can cause cracking.

• Oven Use: Not recommended unless specified. Porcelain can crack under direct or uneven heat.

Cleaning

• Dishwasher Safe: While porcelain is durable, hand washing is recommended to prolong the life of your piece — especially for items with delicate features or decorative elements.

• Stain Removal: Use a paste of baking soda and water for stubborn tea or coffee stains. Avoid harsh abrasives or metal scouring pads.

Handling

• Avoid Thermal Shock: Do not expose pieces to sudden changes in temperature. For example, let a mug come to room temperature before pouring in boiling water.

• Protect Surfaces: If the bottom of the piece is unglazed, consider placing a felt pad or coaster underneath to prevent scratching delicate surfaces.

Decorative Items

For non-functional or decorative pieces, dust gently with a soft cloth. Avoid soaking in water to preserve surface finishes.

All orders are carefully packaged to ensure your handmade pieces arrive safely. Shipping rates and delivery times are calculated at checkout based on your location and selected shipping method. Expedited options may be available if you need your order sooner.

Orders are typically processed within a few business days. Once your order ships, you’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking information so you can follow its journey.

International customers (including Canada and beyond) are responsible for any customs fees, duties, or import taxes that may apply upon delivery.

Return Policy

Thank you for supporting handmade ceramic art. Each piece is crafted with care, and I want you to be completely happy with your purchase. Please review the return policy below:

Returns & Exchanges

Because each item is handmade and often one-of-a-kind, returns are generally not accepted. However, I want you to feel confident in your purchase, so exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis for the following:

-Items damaged during shipping
-Incorrect item received
 

If you believe your situation qualifies for a return or exchange, please contact me within 7 days of delivery with photos and a description of the issue.

Damaged Items

If your order arrives damaged:

• Contact me at marygerman.ceramics@gmail.com within 7 days of receiving your package.
   

• Include clear photos of the damaged item(s), packaging, and shipping label.
   

• I will offer a replacement if available, a store credit, or a refund.
   

Please do not discard the packaging until the issue is resolved.

-Items returned without prior contact
 

Cancellations

Orders may be canceled within 24 hours of purchase, as long as the item has not yet shipped.

Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to my error (e.g., wrong item sent or damaged in transit). Buyers are responsible for return shipping unless otherwise agreed.
